Speak It—See It! How to Get Results with the Word of God

Excerpted from Glory and the End Times.

Is it really possible to say and think what you desire and it manifests?

According to Scripture it is. Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV) says, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” Mark 11:23 (NKJV) says, “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”

Those in unsaved circles who are trying to be spiritual often refer to this principle as the law of attraction. The idea behind this “law” is everything that you desire is attracted to you by images in your mind and thoughts and spoken words. It is one of the most talked about philosophies in the world in both motivational teaching as well as other spiritual groups.

Oddly enough, it only works on a limited scale for most people, if at all, because of the origins and the foundation from which these laws are derived. It is actually a deeper spiritual law that is derived from these two Scriptures and others, but when taken out of context, it does not produce the ultimate desired results. “Pseudo spiritual” groups took this principle from Scriptures such as Mark 11:23 and Proverbs 23:7 and excluded God as the ultimate Source of the provision. It makes the person God instead of humbling the person and connecting to the Creator, the Giver of all things.

In 2 Samuel chapter 11, the Bible tells the story of King David, a man after God’s heart (Acts 13:22), who saw a woman named Bathsheba bathing on her roof. She was lovely to behold, and he was immediately drawn to her. Even though she was married, he started a relationship with her, she became pregnant, and David had her husband killed in an attempt to cover his tracks. He got what he looked at, but he did not anticipate the outcome.

God was not pleased, and their son died. David used this similar principle of thinking and seeing a desire and then obtaining it, but on a much lower level, which produced results with major consequences because it was governed by wrong motives and for his own selfish purposes. So using this principle not connected to the Creator and only thinking and imagining what we think we want will not yield desirable results.

Imagine your friend gets a new car, and you decide you want one too, so you implement the “law of attraction” by thinking about it, visiting the car lot, and displaying pictures of the car all around you. Finally, you get the car, but it comes with a price because you now have a car loan you cannot afford. You used the principle for selfish gain, and like David, it did not end well for you.

You can really manifest the life you are called to live by using the authority He gave us of speaking and thinking His words and thoughts—but you must be mindful to do it God’s way. Jesus said that He only did what He saw the Father do (John 5:19). That means the key to using this principle is to first hear God, and then use the spiritual law to help bring about whatever He tells you to do.

Thoughts Create

We know from science that speaking can have a positive or negative effect on objects and creative matter. Thoughts can as well. Whether negatively or positively, thoughts impact your world physiologically, emotionally, and spiritually. You should decide now how your thoughts will affect your life and the lives of those around you. Philippians 4:8 (NKJV) says, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Why did Paul say this? Because he understood that thoughts create!

Have you ever watched an intense, action-filled movie as someone drives off a cliff? Your body sends signals to your mind as if it is actually happening to you. You start to perspire, and your heart starts racing because your eyes are watching, but your body cannot differentiate if what you are seeing is real or not. Consistent meditation on something such as a painful childhood memory can also cause negative physiological changes in your body. When unpleasant thoughts germinate in your mind, toxins are released into your bloodstream, weakening your immune system and affecting your blood sugar levels.

If watching a movie, dreaming, or thinking can cause adverse physiological changes, imagine what would happen if you used your mind to think on things that are lovely and of good report by intentionally thinking and seeing by faith in your mind and spirit what you are praying for. God gave us an imagination to use for good, not for evil or to waste. You do not have to wait until you have a dream at night. You can on purpose close your eyes and envision yourself with your prayers answered and see them come to pass.

Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV) says, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” As I meditated on this Scripture, it occurred to me that thinking as well as asking will manifest what I’m believing for according to His will.

One time I felt a strong desire from God to go to Australia. I did not pray about it or even tell anyone I wanted to go, but for weeks and weeks I could not shake the thought that I was supposed to go to Australia. At the time, I was preparing to go to Vanuatu, an island in the South Pacific. The only way to get there is to go through Australia.

For three days, the desire to go to Australia weighed heavier and heavier on me each day. On the third day, I received an email from someone in Australia asking me to please come and speak at two national events that November. That was the exact month I was going to Vanuatu. It worked out perfectly. My wife and I flew through Sydney and presented the gospel at several major national events in Melbourne and Perth in Australia while on the way to Vanuatu.

I encourage you to learn to incorporate thoughts into your prayers. If you pray for an hour, spend another hour with soft, soaking music, seeing yourself with whatever you just prayed for. It is not wrong to imagine yourself with what God said you could have. There is no such thing as an idle brain, you are always thinking whether you realize it or not. So why not intentionally use your thoughts to see your bills paid, your family saved, or your thriving career, business, or ministry.

Picture what you want in your mind according with what you understand His will in your life to be, and the thought will send a signal to what you are thinking about, causing it to manifest.

God wants to do amazing things in and through you. Ask Him what they are and make a commitment to fill your heart and mind with them. Place pictures in your car of whatever you are praying about. Place a picture on your bathroom mirror, your electronic devices, and anywhere you can see it often. Create a framework for your thoughts to manifest and to be in perfect alignment with Heaven.

Emotions Create

You can decree, confess, name it, claim it, and pray all the right words, but if you are not emotionally connected to your dreams or desires, you do not really believe they are going to happen. Successful leaders like the founders of Tesla, Apple, and Micro- soft were emotionally connected and passionate to the point of obsession with their ideas. Even though he did not get to build it, King David was obsessed with building a temple for the God of Israel. You too should be emotionally connected and righteously obsessed with the vision that God gave you.

Sometimes people hold back from getting too excited about their dreams in fear of being disappointed, but you have to put your emotions, mind, body, and spirit into your God-given dreams and be excited about what you are praying, believing, and speaking until it manifests.

I have heard many stories of clowns and comedians visiting terminally ill cancer patients who, after the jovial visit, experience remission caused from laughter. Can you see how this works? There are a lot of cranky believers and people in general who hold grudges and then wonder why they aren’t happy and healthy.

My friend, Sid Roth, is one of the greatest Jewish evangelists, leading many to the Messiah. He is absolutely obsessed with his mission. One time, he and I went to lunch in Charlotte, North Carolina, and he immediately started sharing the gospel with the server, the cook, and everyone he encountered. Before the server took our order, he immediately said, “Are you a believer? Do you know the Messiah?”

“Oh yes. I am from Africa, I am Nigerian,” she replied.

“Yes, but are you born again and Spirit-filled, speaking in your heavenly language?” Sid asked.

“Well, I do not have that gift yet.”

Sid looked at me and said, “She does not have that gift yet, let’s take care of that. This is not a gift for everybody. It is a gift for everybody who is a believer.”

Well, we should have ordered first, because after we prayed with her, the power of God slammed her to the floor. Boom! A manager and another lady came out to make sure the server was okay.

“Did she pass out? Is she having a seizure? Does she need medical help?” they asked.

“Oh no,” we said. “She’s fine. We prayed for her to receive the Holy Spirit. Are you a Spirit-filled believer?”

We didn’t eat for more than an hour, which is a normal occurrence when we are together. Sid and I put our heart, soul, and mind into the vision, and our passion creates more and more souls for the Kingdom, connecting people with God, the Giver of life, love, power, health, and peace.
