Speak God’s Word to Activate Miracles: Release His Supernatural Power in Your Life
Excerpted from Miracle Prayers.
We can never underestimate the power of speaking faith-filled words constantly.
I for one have seen the demonstration of this divine principle in my personal life. I can remember a time when I was being afflicted in my physical body with sickness and disease. I was so frustrated. Here I was seeing countless people being healed and delivered, yet the enemy was attacking my physical body. Like most people, I prayed. I asked God to heal me. It seemed like the more I prayed for healing, the worse the symptoms became. I would experience severe numbness in my face, arms, and feet. The devil began to speak to my mind and tell me that I had a very severe chronic condition. “Lord, heal me!” I cried.
Then one day as I was praying, I heard the still small voice of the Holy Spirit. He said to me, “Son, why are you asking Me to do what I have already done?” I was puzzled by this question. Then the Holy Spirit said to me, “You were already healed two thousand years ago. Speak to your body and command it to align with My Word.” I never looked at things from that vantage point before. I stopped asking God to heal me, and I started confessing that I was already healed.
There was absolutely no change at first; at least that is what I thought. All of a sudden, each of the symptoms began to abate. As I continued to confess healing and wholeness over my body, every symptom left and did not come back! Hallelujah to the Lamb of God! What took place in this situation? I had to release the power of God by speaking the rhema Word of God.
You must understand that you already have the supernatural power of God resident within you. You have the life-giving Word in your heart. In order to experience the miraculous, you have to release that power. We release the supernatural through confessing the Word of God on a regular basis. You already possess the spirit of faith according to 2 Corinthians 4:13. So speak life over yourself!
Prayer and Decree
Father, I thank You for the power and sovereignty of Your Word. The Bible declares in Hebrews 11:1 that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”; therefore, I declare that the invisible promises of God are a tangible reality in my life. Your Word is the deepest reality in my life; therefore, I believe and stand on Your Word. As I hearken to Your still small voice, I receive an impartation of supernatural faith for the miraculous to manifest in my life. I decree that there is a release of Your supernatural power in my life. I declare I will consistently experience miracles, signs, and wonders. Thank You, Lord, for the demonstration of Your power in and through my life for Your glory in the name of Jesus. Amen!
Faith for Miracles
Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?—just as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness” (Galatians 3:5-6).
As you have already seen, faith is a profound spiritual reality for the believer. It is the basis from which all manifestation in the Kingdom of God flows. The Spirit-filled life of faith is the divine inheritance of every single believer in Jesus. We are not just called to follow the teachings of Jesus or to emulate His character, we are called by God to manifest the Kingdom of God and to display its power. How do we accomplish this? We do not accomplish this through religion, tradition, or legalism; we are only able to accomplish this through walking by faith. Simply put, we are called to live in the miraculous daily.
I was asked once, “If miracles become commonplace, are they still miracles?” The answer to this question is, “YES!” Maybe I should define miracles. When we use the term miracle, we are referring to a manifestation of God that interrupts, suspends, or violates the very laws of nature. We are talking about divine intervention. This intervention circumvents, or overrides, natural processes. For example, creative miracles: a person receiving a brand-new heart, food multiplying, and the like.
I was just a teenager when I witnessed my first miracle. We were in a regular Bible study when a lady came to the altar for prayer. One of her legs was significantly shorter than the other. The man of God sat her down, grabbed her legs, and commanded them to grow. In my mind I thought, This is ridiculous! To my surprise, the leg grew right before my eyes. Hallelujah! At the time, I did not know that this sort of manifestation should be normal in the church.
Unfortunately, many who read this still don’t know that this should be normal. Why? We have replaced the supernatural with philosophy and pseudo-intellectualism, often masked as theology. I am not saying that we should dismiss theology. I am saying that when we get our theology right, it will facilitate the supernatural.
Prayer and Faith Declaration
Father, I thank You that the Spirit-filled life of faith is the inheritance of every born-again believer. I lay hold on the promise of Your Word that says, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you” (Acts 1:8). I declare that the dunamis power of the Holy Spirit, which is the power to perform miracles, is operating in my life. I declare that the POWER of God flows through my life without hindrance or limitation. I declare that miracles are my daily reality. I declare that I will consistently manifest the Kingdom of God and persistently demonstrate Your power in my life. People will see the working of Your mighty power in my life and it will produce supernatural results. There will be a desire to know You, Lord, because of what people will witness in my life in the name of Jesus. Amen!
You Already Have Miracle Faith
One of my favorite epistles in the Bible is the apostle Paul’s epistle to the Galatian church. This epistle was probably written around AD 60. During this time, there was a severe problem in the church in Galatia. There were people known as Judaizers (Jewish believers in the church, zealous for the law), who were subverting the faith of Gentile believers through the practice of legalism. They were convincing misinformed Gentile believers that they needed to be circumcised and practice the Laws of Moses in order to be saved. Paul confronts this false teaching very aggressively and goes as far as to call this “another gospel.”
In the third chapter of Galatians, Paul asked the church a profound question: “O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?” (Galatians 3:1). The word bewitched literally means to cast a spell on someone. Paul goes further to say, “This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” (Galatians 3:2). Why does he pose this question? The implication is that their salvation came through faith and not religious works. When we come to God by faith, He accepts our faith as the means of bringing us into His Kingdom. God doesn’t ask us to recite the Torah or become circumcised before we can be saved. He simply asks us to believe that Christ’s sacrifice was the sufficient payment for our sins.
When we repent of our sins and believe the gospel, we are saved. Why is this so important? The same faith for salvation is the same faith for miracles! In Galatians 3:5, Paul says, “He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” This is known as a rhetorical question. In other words, he is telling us that the working of miracles is a matter of faith. The same faith that saves from sin is the same faith that manifests the miraculous power of God. The problem is that many people are ignorant of this truth. Frankly, they do not even regard their salvation as a miracle.
Beloved, to transform a sinner into a saint is nothing short of miraculous! Therefore, if the greatest miracle of all was simply a matter of taking God at His Word, then every other display of the miraculous is no different. Unfortunately, many people have been “bewitched” into believing that they don’t have “enough faith” or that they need to come up with some religious formula to walk in the miraculous. This is simply not true! God has given all of His children the ingredients they need to experience the life He intends, which is a supernatural life!
Prayer and Decree
Father, I thank You for Your unwavering faithfulness toward me. Thank You for giving me miracle faith that overcomes every circumstance and situation in my life. Today, I declare that I possess great faith. I declare that the victory that overcomes the world is my faith; therefore, I will not give in to fear or anxiety. I will not trust in my own works or abilities, but I fully rely and depend upon the efficacious work of Christ on the Cross. I rest in the finished work of Christ. I decree that the same faith that saved me from sin is the same faith that produces miracles in my life; this faith is working in and for me right now. Miracles are easy for me because I live by the very faith of Christ. I trust in the Word of God completely, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
Miracles in Practice
When I first became a believer, I was so zealous for the things of God. I literally read my Bible for hours on end. The more I read, the more I was provoked to a godly jealousy. I thought to myself, Why can’t I experience this? I was so desirous to see the Bible come alive that I looked for every opportunity to demonstrate the power of God.
One day as a teenager in high school, I noticed that something was wrong with one of my classmates. She wore black every day and she never spoke to anyone. I asked her if she knew Jesus. She said, “No.” I also discerned that there were malevolent forces at work inside her. I didn’t know many scriptures, but from what I read I led her in a prayer of deliverance and salvation. I took authority over the spirit of suicide and death, and immediately she was set free by the power of God. Wow! The more I heard the Holy Spirit speak to me through the Word, the more my faith would rise to the occasion.
On another (more recent) occasion, a man contacted our ministry for prayer. He purchased one of our books on healing and listened to our teachings. Prior to this time, he never saw a single sick person healed or a single miracle. One day after reading my book and meditating on the Scriptures, he decided to put what he read into practice. So he went to the local pharmacy and began to pray for people going in and out of the pharmacy.
One such person was an elderly man suffering from blindness as a result of cataracts. He laid hands on and prayed for this person, and instantly the man was able to see clearly. Hallelujah! Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. This gentleman exercised his sense of spiritual hearing, and as a result of acting on what he heard, he experienced the miraculous. The same will stand true for you as you hear the voice of the Holy Spirit right now!
Prayer and Decree
Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for Your supernatural favor in my life. Miracles are the culture of the Kingdom of God and faith is the currency of the Kingdom of God; therefore, I release my faith to produce a culture of the miraculous in my life. I declare that miracles are a regular occurrence in my life. Through faith, I apply the Word of God to every circumstance and situation that I face, which results in the demonstration of Your supernatural power. As I hear and respond to Your Word, I am changed by Your Word, and the promises of Your Word come to pass in my life. I decree that I have constant supernatural encounters with God. I live and operate in the supernatural realm by faith. Lord, what You have spoken is now my reality in the name of Jesus. Amen!
