Tear Down Strongholds Fast: 3 Proven Spiritual Warfare Tactics That Actually Work
Excerpted from Miracle Prayers.
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).
The truth is that you and I are in a battle—not a battle in the physical realm, but in the mind.
The thoughts, ideas, and influences we yield to will determine who wins and who loses. The Bible says in the book of 2 Corinthians that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, they are mighty (powerful) through God. In other words, we can’t fight this spiritual and mental battle with physical weapons. If we are going to experience the miraculous power of unlimited faith, we have to address the enemies of this objective.
Whether you realize it or not, the biggest opponents of faith and the supernatural in general exist in your own mind. The Bible commands us to “pull down strongholds.” What does this mean? In the original Greek, this literally means to demolish and destroy fortresses. Paul is using military language to describe the battle of the mind. Just like in a physical war, the person who takes the high ground has a strategic advantage in the battle.
If you want to win the battle, you must first penetrate and demolish the fortresses of your enemy. In the same way, you and I have to take dominion over our thought life and pull down mental strongholds.
Prayer and Decree
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the authority You have given me through Christ to tear down every stronghold that stands against Your will in my life. Your Word declares, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds” (2 Corinthians 10:4).
Lord, I declare that every stronghold of fear, doubt, lack, or sin in my life is broken by the power of Your Word and the blood of Jesus. I take captive every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and I bring it into obedience to Christ.
Today, I decree that I walk in freedom and victory. I pull down generational curses, negative mindsets, and every lie of the enemy. I replace them with Your truth, peace, and promises. I stand firm in the authority of Christ, and no stronghold can prevail against me. In Jesus’ name, amen!
Why Satan Hates Faith
We can already see, faith is an integral part of the Christian life. I would even go so far as to say that without it we cannot really live a Christian life at all. So why does the subject of faith seem so elusive to so many people? The Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him [God].” Satan knows that if you and I learn to walk by faith in every area of our lives, we will ultimately be pleasing to God. Therefore, the enemy has strategically brought confusion in the area of faith. It seems that faith has become a taboo word.
Over the past 20 years, the church has embraced many dimensions of the New Testament paradigm, such as prophecy, apostolic ministry, the gifts of the Spirit, and revival culture; however, it seems that we have still fallen short in the area of faith. This subject has been smeared with abuse, misunderstanding, ignorance, and out-right fear.
Once we learn to tap into this kind of faith, we are accessing the realm of the supernatural, and it is in this environment that we experience the miraculous.
Why has this been the case? The most fearful thing that the devil could imagine is for the church at large to learn to live a life of faith, more specifically—unlimited faith. By unlimited faith, I am referring to faith without limits imposed on it through religion, tradition, intellectualism, or the vain opinions of man. I am speaking of the faith that is willing to believe whatever the Word of God says without reservation or hesitation. Once we learn to tap into this kind of faith, we are accessing the realm of the supernatural, and it is in this environment that we experience the miraculous.
The Bible goes further to say, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6). To have faith in God is to first and foremost recognize who He is. This recognition is more than just a mere acknowledgment of God’s power and sovereignty, it is an inner recognition of His very nature. This is why the Scripture says that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. It is conveying to us the very nature of God. He is a good God! He is a rewarding God! As simple as this statement seems, I have met many Christians who do not really believe that God is good. Sure we sing about Him being good in a church setting, but that doesn’t mean we really believe this truth.
If we know that He is good, then we would know that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. This recognition would motivate our desire to seek Him even more. As they say in the country, “The proof is in the pudding.” This simply means that if we believe something, we act on it. Faith is an action word (which we will discuss later). The more we are convinced of who God is, the more we will move toward Him with an expectation of being rewarded with the promises of His Word. Simply put, faith is the inner recognition of and positive response to the Word of God.
Prayer and Decree
Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for Your omnibenevolence. You are always good, no matter the circumstances of my life. Thank You for manifesting Your goodness to me every day. By faith, I am convinced of Your goodness. I walk in Your divine favor every moment of my life. Your Word declares that You are the Rewarder of those who diligently seek You; therefore, I declare that I diligently seek you every moment of my life. I receive the reward of diligently seeking You; the reward is the manifestation of Your presence and power in my life. Thank You for Your presence. Right now, I acknowledge Your sovereign power in my life and in the lives of my loved ones.
I decree that I am filled with the fullness of God. There is nothing missing or broken in my life because I am complete in You. Thank You for being good to me, Father. I will live in Your goodness all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
