111 Meaning in the Bible: The Prophetic Message Behind the Number You Keep Seeing

Jesus’ number is 111. Jesus is “The One.”

When He shows up in 111, it means all three Persons of Him, the Trinity, are made manifest in fullness.

In Colossians 2:9 (NKJV), the apostle Paul explains we only need Jesus, “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

I have a dear friend who died and went to Heaven, but came back to life on earth. He said that Jesus was called “The One” in Heaven. Scripture proves that out.

Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered all over with eyes, inside and out. Day after day and night after night they keep on saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty—the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come” (Revelation 4:8 NLT).

And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it…. (Revelation 20:11 NLT).

John the Baptist asked Jesus to verify His identity as the One in Luke 7:19-20 (NIV):

“Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?” When the men came to Jesus, they said, “John the Baptist sent us to you to ask, ‘Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?’”

Jesus is The One, The Chosen One, The Anointed One, The Messiah.

The possessive form of the word Jehovah appears exactly 111 times in the Bible, usually translated as “Lord’s.”

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might (Deuteronomy 6:4-5).

The following are some other biblical words and phrases with the numerical value 111:

  • 111 = Wonderful (Isaiah 9:6)

  • 111 = Great Wonder

  • 111 = Nurture

  • 111 = Rod (as in measurement)

  • 111 = The Most High (Daniel 4:32)

  • 111 = House (John 14:2; My Father’s house)

  • 111 = The Root of Jesse (Isaiah 11:10)

  • 111 x 9 = The Lord (Luke 1:43)

  • 111 x 21 = Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes (Luke 2:12)

  • 111 x 12 = The Child Jesus (Luke 2:27)

I am a 111-person. I see it everywhere, and I believe 111 has to do with the awareness of the presence of God. To me, it’s like God saying, “I am here with you and I am going to bless you!” When I start seeing 111 everywhere, I begin to hear God speak in a whole new way. There is only one example of a thousand-fold blessing in the Bible, and I want it:

May the Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times more numerous than you are, and bless you as He has promised you! (Deuteronomy 1:11 NKJV)

Maybe if you’re seeing 111 everywhere, God is telling you He wants to increase and multiply you in amazing ways!

Pass through the camp and command the people, saying, “Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess” (Joshua 1:11 (NKJV).

Is it time for you to finally enter into your promises? The Lord is with you, so have courage, have courage, have courage!

Hannah’s vow to the Lord:

And she vowed a vow, and said, “O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall be no razor come upon his head” (1 Samuel 1:11).

Nehemiah’s prayer to God:

O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer (Nehemiah 1:11).

Jeremiah 1:11 (NKJV) is also very interesting to me. It’s where the Lord is instructing the prophet to hear God speak through the common things going on around him. He says:

Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree.”

God is speaking about deep revelation through the ordinary events going on in your everyday life. The number 111 is all about that. It is an indicator that God’s presence is here for you to see something amazing if you are willing to humble yourself and seek after Him.

Then a voice came from heaven, “You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Mark 1:11 NKJV).

  • Acts 1:11 has to do with angels speaking clearly.

  • Romans 1:11, Paul speaks of wanting to impart spiritual gifts to others.

So, hearing God speak, having the Lord show you deep truth through ordinary things, angels speaking clearly, prayers being heard, and vows being responded to seem to be referenced in the number 111 at times.

God will often repeat a message so that we are sure to find it and know its importance. The following are some examples:

For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One [111], Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17 NKJV).

So, we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another (Romans 12:5).

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:12-13 [111 2x]).

The rest of the New Testament is full of amazing 111 Scriptures. My favorite also has to do with God prophetically showing John something amazing in His presence:

Saying, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,” and, “What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea” (Revelation 1:11 NKJV).
